RETAINER INFORMATION

My attorney client relationship with you is created through an engagement letter or retainer agreement. For specific information, please telephone me at 718 638 2383 during East Coast business hours. I provide only a general description on this page.

I provide legal services pursuant to a written retainer agreement. Among other things, the retainer agreement explains your rights and the terms of service. Service may be based on an hourly rate, a flat fee, a contingency or a combination, depending on the nature and complexity of your matter.

Your retainer is held in trust and drawn down. Any unused balance is refundable. There is no charge for your initial consultation. Information you disclose remains privileged even if you decide not to retain me.

Hourly cases are generally billed in tenths of an hour for all time spent in my focused efforts to vigorously represent you, consistent with the facts and applicable law. All work is performed as efficiently as possible. I will provide, upon request, a rough written estimate of likely costs in advance of any work.

Contingency cases are also based upon a written retainer agreement that sets forth the agreed upon contingency amount and other details of your representation. In every instance, your confidences are strictly preserved.

Please feel free to telephone or e-mail me about your particular situation.
There is no charge for an initial telephone consultation.

I have recently authored a securities glossary: The GelberLaw Glossary,
An Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Securities Industry ©, and hope you
enjoy my Wikipedia article on Joseph Norman Dolley.
